Ancient meaning of ‘Matakite‘
The ancient translation of the word ‘Matakite’ is ‘to live in clear DNA towards a purpose’
Telling us that reaching a Matakite state is a journey because there are elements here in the Earthly Realm that can taint our DNA. The journey of managing those elements take many lifetimes to achieve.
The elements can be either of a physical nature such as alcohol, processed foods, chemicals etc. or of a non physical nature such as violent ideas, harmful beliefs, mental & emotional abuse etc. To be able to fully understand ‘Matakite’, you must fully understand the Māori perspective of what it means to be human and live in Te Taiao - The Earthly Realm.
Here at Matakite Talks, we focus on clearing the harmful non-physical elements by encouraging and providing Māori Culture insight for people to do Inner Work and mastering the Whole Self.
What Matakite means in today‘s world:
The most common perception of a Matakite is someone who possesses foresight, psychic powers,
clairvoyant abilities, heightened intuition or prophetic insight.
Which describes what a Matakite can do, however, this is not what a Matakite is. They are still human.

Māori Spiritual Courses
Māori Culture has a unique way of understanding life, how it was created and how it was to be lived.
Te Kooti and many other spiritual guides have been teaching Josephine about this perspective for over 5 years and there is still much for her to learn. Since her teachers are spiritual in nature, this meant that she had to tap into her Matakite gifts in order to learn. This is why she shares all her learnings as ‘Matakite Talks’.

MATAKITE CARDS
Matakite Cards visually represent the inner work described in the courses. They have been created to assist with the clearing DNA process and self-growth journey.
Within this deck, are 33 cards channeled and illustrated by Josephine Raukawa with Te Kooti Arikirangi Te Tūruki and a small 40 page booklet to help interpret the cards and their potential meaning.
We always encourage the interpretation of the cards to come from your intuition and unique view.
This is because your perception and understanding of particular images will tell you more about yourself than the booklet ever will. All we ask is that you practice with safety and grace.
The booklet is a type of aide for the journey. Each card has it's own unique message and words of guidance that may either, confirm what you already know about yourself or bring something to your awareness that is completely new. It all depends on what needs clearing for the next stage.

Kia Ora and Hello
Welcome to Matakite Talks, our website that houses all of our Matakite Knowledge on clearing DNA to live in the True Self.
My name is Josephine Ripeka Raukawa and I have been learning how to clear my DNA from my spiritual guide, Te Kooti Arikirangi Te Tūruki.
Over the last 5 years, I’ve integrated the Matakite life in all aspects of living especially through our little side hustle business called, 'Korōwai - The Flow Within’ and Homeschooling catering to my Autistic and ADHD son. Everything I know and share has been lived through personal experience.
Te Kooti helped me embrace the parts of myself that I either rejected or suppressed my entire life and accept the fact that I was Matakite. Thankfully he sent me a few mentors who could help me on the journey. With the first mentor, I was able to open up my gifts, learn about energy and heal my physical ailments.
The second mentor expanded on all of the above and helped ground the spiritual experiences leading us to creating Matakite Talks.
Where it all started....
My childhood and life up to age 33 was riddled with spiritual experiences. Luckily I had a Mum who was raised around the Matakite and Tohunga world and was able to help me where she could. Her father was well. The one piece of advice that helped me through these experiences were, 'don't go looking for answers, they will come to you when the time is right. Just wait, it will all make sense when you are ready'.
At age 27, I became a mum to a beautiful baby boy whom I raised on my own while working full-time at Westpac New Zealand. When he turned 5 years old he struggled immensely with Primary School. I made the decision to resign from work to be more available for him. We moved home to family and I studied at Victoria University of Wellington while he was at school. My studies at Victoria University would take me from psychology to commerce, to public policy but finally ending up in everything Māori where much healing occurred.
When son was age 7 (2018), the time had finally arrived and I was ready to receive answers about my spiritual experiences. Unbeknown to me, my neighbour was clairvoyant (first mentor) and Te Kooti would visit her with all my messages. This is where I first began learning and practicing my Matakite abilities with the aim to connect with Te Kooti directly so that he could teach me personally.
Later that year, my son was finally diagnosed with Moderate Autism (verbal & high-functioning) and Hyperactivity ADHD. This is where Te Kooti gave me my first real world guidance, 'homeschool your son' and then began showing me that my son was Matakite also. We created a curriculum to help clear son's DNA so that he could be clear in who he was. I had been clearing my own for 9 months prior and used my own personal experience to structure the homeschooling routine. We focussed on self-awareness, emotional regulation, nurturing our spark, holding our shadow, seeing ourselves in nature and bringing our dreams into the real world.
A few years later, I met my second mentor who showed me a very different way of looking at my experiences. Her unique essence captured much of what I was taught not to be. The amount of inner unlearning I had to do was phenomenal but very worth it. Her perception was undeniable because it matched a lot of what I was learning from Te Kooti and nurtured the type of Matakite I wanted to be.
Where we are now....
I am a completely new person and my son is too. We have experienced so much growth that our lives have been forever transformed. He is back at school holding his own. His struggles at school are nowhere near the level of hardship as before. He grew into himself and knows himself well enough to regulate his emotions and practice healthy releasing. He is thriving at school and I'm so super proud of him.
I welcomed a new baby to our family born July 28th 2022 and started this small business, Matakite Talks. Being at home full-time with a baby while running a small online business has been a very challenging but worth every minute. My eldest is a major help and absolutely adores his little brother.
